Kimi ni todoke is about a high school girl who has no real friends and doesn't stand out much in the classroom. Her name is Sawako but people call her sadako (like the chick from the scary Japanese movie The ring) because she's gloomy and scary looking. They think if you sit next to her or talk to her, you'll be cursed.
So she isn't the most popular girl until... The most popular boy starts giving her attention and her whole world turns around. She starts making friends and start talking normally to people. And even develops a crush on this popular boy.
But things doesn't always go so well with popular boys. There will always be trouble.
There are two seasons. The first is 25 episodes and the second 12 episodes.
This is one of the first anime of it's style. They tried to keep the drawing style as close to the manga as they can get and I think it came out pretty nice.
I will rate this anime ***** (5) stars and it is in my top 10 anime and definitely a must see.
